Anti Rattle Window Guides
Installation Guide
This guide is intended to help you install you newly purchased Anti-Rattle Window Guides.

-
Start by winding the windows down and removing the outer weather seal
you must be very careful when removing this seal as it is very easy to bend
we recommend that you lift up the very edge and spray WD40 underneath and let it penetrate
using your fingers gently pull towards the middle of the car in equal amounts all the way down the seal until it comes off. Don't be tempted to get one side up and pull as you will damage the seal.

-
Once the seal has been removed you can start removing your doorcards.
-
Once the doorcards have been removed you will see the inner workings of the window mechanism

-
There are 3 nuts holding the window to the rail at the bottom.
-
The middle and rear nut are the easiest to get to, for the front you need to wind the window up so you can access it behind the handle mechanism.

-
Once the 3 nuts are loose you can now pull the rail off the glass, to remove the window from the door we found the easiest way was to tilt the glass forward and remove the glass rear first. Note* the studs sticking out of the glass are tight on the top but there is a certain area of the door they do slide through with relative ease.
-
Once the glass is out, then you need to remove the old guides, or whats left of the old guides. We found the easiest way to do this was with an angle grinder and a flap disc. Take care not to damage the glass of the original primer thats on the glass. Once the plastic has been sanded away you will see the adhesive left, from this point just use a sharp stanley knife blade but take care not to scratch off the original primer.
-
Note* use a bit of masking tape to remind you where the guides sit.
-
Once the adhesive is mostly cleaned up you can clean the glass and the areas where the new guides are going to sit. we use acetone to clean the areas.

-
Using your choice of suitable adhesive make sure you apply good amounts inside the guide and slide it over the glass, slide the guide left and right to make sure the adhesive has got full contact under the guide.
-
Let the adhesive cure (check packaging for correct cure times)

-
Installation is pretty much the reverse of removal.
-
One thing to note, we have found it easier to attach the front guides first then lower the rear onto the slide rails at the rear end.
-
Once the glass is back on its rail operate the window toe make sure the guides are in correct contact with the sliding side rails.
-
When you come to re-installing the weather seal, apply generous amounts of WD40 inside the groove and just like removal, push it on equally down the door to stop it bending.

* Araldite 5 Minute "Rapid" Epoxy - We have used this with a report of the window guide coming free of the window.
Until we investigate why, we do not recommend this epoxy as a suitable bonding agent.
